2022 Investee Cohort Gathering

In November 2022, the Tauck Family Foundation (TFF) hosted its tenth annual Investee Cohort Gathering and the first in-person gathering since 2018! The afternoon offered reconnection and collaboration opportunities for the staff and board members from investee organizations, community partners, TFF Advisory Committee members, Tauck family members, and TFF staff in attendance.

After introductory remarks from Foundation staff, investee partners shared reflections about the SEL work their organization or initiative has implemented over the past five to ten years. Investee partners highlighted their proudest achievements, as well as shared learnings that might be helpful to others endeavoring similar work.

Following these presentations, TFF Advisory Committee member Dr. Stephanie M. Jones, Gerald S. Lesser Professor in Early Childhood Development and Director of the EASEL Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Dr. Gretchen Brion-Meisels, Lecturer at Harvard Graduate School of Education presented concepts around SEL sustainability within organizations and communities. Attendees engaged in small group discussions about strategies to sustain the SEL work as well as challenges or barriers to continuing this work.

After a brief share out of ideas, TFF Advisory Committee member Jennifer Miller, author of Confident Parents, Confident Kids, led a gratitude exercise via Zoom. To conclude the afternoon’s event, TFF Board President Colleen Ritzau Leth, and former TFF Board Presidents Kiki Mahar and Liz Walters provided heartfelt closing remarks that culminated in Tauck family members applauding TFF investee partners for their dedicated commitment to the important work that has positively impacted many Bridgeport children, families, and educators.
